The Community Celebration of Second Life’s 12th anniversary, also called SL12B, officially ended yesterday, June 28, with a day of contagious parties and fireworks, lots of fireworks. Again, greeting for the whole week was amazing: I could meet some great people, hopefully I could contribute helping visitors find their way, some newbies appeared and asked for orientation, I welcomed Bryn Oh when she rezzed all of a sudden at the landing point and I had the most amazing talk with a flying wolf whose name I cannot remember now and whom I regret not having traded friendship with.
Of course, there were many other attractions too, during the celebration week: live shows, talks, Meet a Linden sessions (one of them with Ebbe Altberg), presentations, other parties and a number of exhibitions. It was so much that, for most of us, one week was not enough – and, thinking of that, SL12B Community Celebration’s organization planned to keep the sims open until July 4. Although the performances have ended, the exhibitions, or at least most of them, will remain there for another week. So, if you missed any of them or would like to visit them again, that’s your chance! You can start by the Welcome Area, for instance, or consult this list of places on the SL12B Community Celebration page.
I’ll end this short post with some photos of the fireworks at the Cake Stage yesterday. I hope you have enjoyed the party!
